Has your Heathrow flight been cancelled or delayed?
21 March 2025
Did you know?
If you are flying from Heathrow to an EU/EEA airport on an EU/EEA licensed carrier you are protected under EU law.
If your flight is cancelled, read about how the airline must help you.
Beyond care, assistance and re-routing, additional compensation may not be available if the cancellation is due to extraordinary circumstances, such as an airport closure.
What should I get if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed you must be offered free meals and refreshments depending on how long the waiting time is and if your flight is covered by the law. Find out if your flight delay is covered by law.
What if I am delayed overnight?
If you have to stay overnight because of the delay you are entitled to free hotel accommodation. You may also be entitled to free transport from the airport to the hotel, free telephone calls, fax messages, or emails.
When am I entitled to a full refund for the delay?
If your flight is delayed for 5 hours or more, you must be offered a full refund. This includes a return flight to your first point of departure. However, if you choose to continue your journey, you will not be eligible for a refund.
